At the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly hallows we discover that Harry was not the one that killed Voldemort as the prophecy had said needed doing.

"The one with the power to Vanquish the Dark Lord approaches" and would be born "as the seventh month dies. The Dark Lord will mark him as his equal...and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives."

While reading the Deathly Hallows we find that it was not harry that actually killed Lord voldemort but Lord Voldemort himself when his wand... "Backfires" so to speak.

Well, I thought it was quite a good way for it all to end. Harry played a key part in the downfall of Voldermort, whilst not actually descending to Voldermort's level and commiting a genuine murder. It was fitting that Voldermort, a very powerful wizard, but a poor human being, was killed by his naivity and arrogance, both of which were great flaws in his character.

no, it shouldve been Lupin.

Why do you feel that it should have been Lupin to have been the one to kill Voldemort? While I can see some rhyme and reason there, Lupin did not have as much personal stake in the matter as Harry did.
