Was anyone else here as bored as I was throughout the "camping"? I personally thought JKR could've written it better. To me, it seemed to be a filler - just a way to make the book seem bigger.

Well, that's true, but there was some important parts during the "camping". Some of these led to events that later were discussed in the story.

Ron leaving was one of them. Very Happy

I have to agree here. Ron's leaving was intregal in Harry and Hermione's "getting to learn one another." Yeah, they had seven years to do so but to learn to act as a team and to learn what the other was thinking all that time was very important.
